There is a big difference between coding and engineering, working on a project alone or contributing to a large software system. In this course, we will discuss what software engineering is and how to become one. We will cover all phases of software development from requirements gathering to project maintenance, and discuss processes and best practices. Most of the concepts will be tried in practice using Python, Django and pytest.

The course sessions consist of lectures given by the professor as well as practical seminars where students complete a programming assignment under the professor’s supervision.
Homework is assigned after each session to strengthen the understanding of the material.
Every week a few quizzes are conducted. A final exam happens at the end of the course.
Anton is a proficient software engineer with over 8 years of industry experience. He is currently working as a backend engineer at Byrd GmbH, a European startup providing digital and scalable fulfillment solutions. He earned his Master's degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Applied Science. In addition to his professional expertise, he has also contributed to various open-source projects. Anton has previously worked as a mathematics tutor, honing his ability to communicate complex ideas in an understandable manner.
