Overview

The financial and insurance industry, as we know it, is undergoing rapid change and driven by different forces, including the pandemic. The pace of change is increasing. We have basically been fast forwarded 5 years into the future. Business models are changing from traditional model based on scarcity to ‘abundance models’ with important implications on products, pricing, differentiation and customer journey. Traditional players are transforming as they are being challenged by start-ups on the one hand who focus on one particular aspect or niche of the company value or customer experience chain, and by large ecosystem players from completely unrelated industries on the other. We will dig briefly into economic history and will explore the world of FinTech and Insurtech, which are two of the most critical and fastest growing business areas. We will look into concrete cases with some experts. We will look into the different capstones that required to drive them further. Or maybe you will get inspired to start a Fintech yourself. At the end of the session you should have solid insights on the world of Finance & Business, concrete applications and understandings on important understandings.

Learning highlights

  • The overall objective is to open up the world of finance, FinTech, exponentiality, behavioural economics and ideation to the students. There will be additional assignments and case studies throughout the module.
