Skills you’ll learn
Futures Thinking is an emerging discipline that encompasses principles and methods such as Strategic Foresight, Design Futures (including Speculative Design and Design Fiction), and Strategic Planning. It has gained popularity as an approach to innovation, entrepreneurship, and strategic thinking, and has been applied to protect businesses from global crises, as well as to develop new intellectual property. When used effectively, it can be a powerful tool for identifying risks early and enabling businesses to enter new markets ahead of the competition.
Futures Thinking can also be used to analyse future market disruptions, transform mindsets and organisational cultures, support financial and resource planning, identify emerging technologies, and prepare organisations and societies for future threats and opportunities.
In this course, you will learn how to identify early signs of patterns and trends, extrapolate them into the future to explore multiple scenarios and outcomes, design a visionary future product or service, and develop a tactical roadmap to realise that vision starting today.
