Growth hacking is a data-driven approach to marketing and product development that focuses on rapid experimentation and iteration to achieve scalable growth. It involves using unconventional and creative strategies to acquire and retain customers, leveraging digital channels, analytics, and user psychology to drive results.
In this course, students will learn how brands like Meta, Pinterest, and Uber scaled their businesses to become category leaders, the science and theory behind their success, and how to apply these frameworks to your own startup. We will cover the latest trends and best practices in digital marketing, growth hacking tools, and growth product strategies to allow you to stay ahead of the curve in the rapidly evolving high-tech space. Expect to hear from growth leaders, dive into case studies, and apply your learnings to real-world growth projects.

This course complements previous HTE coursework on building an MVP, go-to-market strategy, digital product management, and lead generation. Those joining the course should have a basic understanding of how to build a product and find a market fit for it, as we will focus on the growth phase of a startup’s lifecycle and scaling a product in a competitive market.
All sessions will be in lecture format and will be supplemented with in-class activities including mini case studies, guest speakers, office hours, in-class exercises, and group projects.
Kathy Zhao is currently an advisor at business incubator Antler and independent Product and Growth consultant. Previously, she was the Head of Product at Pomelo Fashion, Southeast Asia's leading omnichannel shopping destination. Prior to Pomelo Fashion, she led the product team at Tencent Thailand, successfully growing the global user base for the company's flagship music streaming platform, JOOX.
Kathy has 10 years of experience building and scaling products for some of the world's leading brands including Amazon, Mastercard, Johnson & Johnson, and L’Occitane en Provence. She has a track record of managing cross-functional (Product, UX Design, Operations) teams that have delivered $xxM in revenue across platforms (web, app, omnichannel) and regions (US and Southeast Asia).

Yes. Upon completion of the course, you will receive a certificate signed by the director of the program your course belonged to.
