Overview

In the second part of the Content Marketing Masterclass, we’ll focus on some hands-on content marketing topics and prepare for the final assignment of the course.

The lab portion of the module will help students strengthen and reinforce the knowledge and skills they acquired during the first part of the course.

We’ll talk about building a content plan, writing high-performing content, and becoming a thought leader. Then, we’ll perform practical tasks to apply those skills and look at some inspiring content marketing examples.

Finally, the students will be given the opportunity to prepare their final assignments and perform group presentations.

Content planning

We’ll talk about putting together a functional content plan you can use for your company. Content planning is key for ensuring the effective usage of resources and reaching your content marketing objectives.

Writing content that ranks

We’ll take a deeper look into the workflow for creating ranking content (mainly blog posts) - from ideation to search intent analysis, creation of outlines, and the actual writing.

Thought leadership, brand storytelling, and content marketing examples

This class will focus on two parts: building your thought leadership using content marketing and brand storytelling, and content marketing inspiration.

Final assignment prep

We will use this session to let students prepare their final assignments and to answer their questions. We’ll also do a quick recap of tips for nailing the final assignment.

Group presentations

Each group will present a content strategy for their selected business.

A final bonus topic of personal branding, career development, and online networking will be presented afterwards, time permitting.

Methodology

The interactive format combines lectures, discussions and small group/individual activities and assignments.

We’ll follow the process developed at the first part of the course: the groups and their sample businesses will stay the same.

Grading

The final grade will be composed of the following criteria:
30% - Class participation
20% - Quizzes (7% each)
30% - Assignments (10% each)
20% - Final project
